The Unity Ethos is quite simply our mantra; the way we summarise who and how we want to be. As a new Club, we have built our team around a fundamental shared set of values and aspirations. This is our Ethos.

Our Mission

Unity exists as a place where every individual is supported as an athlete to develop their skills, train effectively and enjoy the sport. We want a club where every member is working hard to improve, achieve their goals and realise their potential – with everyone proud to be part of making Unity a strong, supportive team.

Our Values

Our team is guided by our values. These are at the heart of the team, and we believe they are what make Unity a fabulous team to be part of! We live and talk these continuously. They form the basis of our team Conduct Standards; they guide our committee decisions – they’re even written into our Constitution!

Our values are: Positive, Focussed, Together.

What this means in practice is that we look to instil a growth mindset in our athletes – continuously striving to improve and active partners in their own progress. We expect them to use their training plans, learn their routines, ask questions or for support if they need it. Every single member of our team is working hard to be the very best they can be.

Coaching is fully tailored: we support our athletes as unique individuals, structuring training to their needs, style and goals. We recognise that every skater will have their own journey in the sport and so each skater has their own training plan to help guide them towards realising their full potential. Coaching is primarily 1-to-1 on an individual basis.

That said, we are here to support each other and have fun as a team. Our team is kind, supportive and are firm friends. This bond is a key part of making the journey fun – the reward for all hard work, effort and discipline our athletes put into the sport! That’s why we make sure there’s time and space for enjoyment along the way. We believe firmly in the power of collaboration and work regularly with clubs and coaches from across the UK and beyond.
